Nevertheless, many cosmetic products do use animal-derived raw materials \u2013 such as the red colourant carmine, which is extracted from cochineal insects, or ingredients like emu oil, mink oil and collagen. Substances that are also permitted in some certified natural cosmetics<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The term \u2018vegan\u2019 is not legally protected and can therefore, in principle, be used by any manufacturer. Our vegan products are certified by the Vegan Society \u2013 you\u2019ll find the seal on the packaging or on the relevant product page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why are our vegan products consistently vegan<\/strong>?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At FAIR SQUARED, we want to be fair not only to our producers and the environment, but also to the animals sharing this planet with us. That is why, in our vegan products, we consciously avoid any ingredients of animal origin, regardless of how they are sourced. You can tell whether a product is vegan by the Vegan Society seal on the packaging or on the relevant product page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Do you also ensure that no animals are harmed during the sourcing of your raw materials?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes: For us, \u2018vegan\u2019 means not only that a finished product contains no animal-derived ingredients, but also that no animals are used, kept or harmed during the sourcing of the raw materials. We therefore ensure, right from the selection of our raw materials, that no animals are used for cultivation, harvesting or processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Are your condoms and menstrual cups also vegan? What makes them special?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes: In the manufacture of many conventional natural rubber products, casein \u2013 a milk protein that gives the latex extra suppleness \u2013 may be used.
